make a splash on the turf: spring racing special – look #19

It’s that time of year again. It’s warm, sunny… and the Spring Racing carnival is here. Race-ready dresses can be found in almost any store and fascinators have overtaken the fashion world. With so much around it’s all too easy to get overwhelmed however it’s important to keep in mind that the dress code for the races is conservative and micro mini’s are perhaps best left to the nightclubs..

For this look I’ve opted for a dress with a more conservative length yet still making a statement with gorgeous colour fade and chic neckline. Keeping in with the seasons colour blocking I’ve added a splash of orange with a stunning Bottega Veneta clutch. The neutral coloured heel is a sneaky trick as they elongate your legs. They’re also handy if you don’t want to draw away from a stunning dress. A head-size fascinator finished off this look. By “head-size” I mean literally that; head-size. So, larger then a little feather or flower in your bun, but certainly smaller then the big sunhat inspired head-ware.
